Entries are now open for the 2010 City of Wanneroo Art Awards, where artists from across the State can vie for $12,000 worth of prizes.
Artists are invited to enter works in the categories of Painting, Sculpture and Works on Paper, and for the first time the City has introduced encouragement prizes for young people aged 12 to 21.
City of Wanneroo Mayor Jon Kelly said the Art Awards were returning in 2010, with greater prizes on offer than ever before.
“After a brief hiatus in 2009 while the exhibition centre at the new Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre was being constructed, the City of Wanneroo Art Awards returns in 2010 at the brand new, purpose built exhibition facility,” Mayor Kelly said.
“The City has a strong emphasis on its arts program, which is set to develop even further with the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre.”
An entry fee of $15 applies to each work with a maximum of one entry allowed per person.
Entries close 22 January 2010.
