Race in Your Rates prizewinners

Monday, 19 October 2009

More than 30 City of Wanneroo ratepayers shared in prizes worth $10,000 as part of the Council’s annual Race in Your Rates competition.

Every year the City gives its ratepayers the chance to win a selection of prizes for racing in their rates.

Ratepayers who paid their rates in full or the first instalment by 7 September 2009, automatically went into the Race in Your Rates prize draw.

Mayor Jon Kelly said that although everybody dreads receiving their annual rates notice, the City has tried to make the experience a little more enjoyable by giving ratepayers the chance to win some great prizes.

”It is important to understand that rates add value to the community,” Mayor Kelly said.

“For every dollar you pay in rates, Council puts two dollars back into the community.

As a ratepayer, it is important that you know and understand what your rates will provide over the 2009/10 financial year for you and your family.”

Winners attended a small prize giving afternoon tea on Tuesday 13 October at the City’s Civic Centre.

The prizes for this year’s Race in Your Rates competition were: two 12-month Wanneroo Aquamotion gold memberships; cash prizes from Satterly Property Group’s Brighton Estate and the Commonwealth Bank; dinner for six at Portifino Quinns; a VIP Perth Glory pack; The Good Guys Clarkson white goods package; a Braziliano home café pack; two weekend getaways packages from the Parmelia Hilton and the West Aistralian Symphony Orchestra, a Kingsway City Shopping Centre shopping spree and golf packages for Carramar and Marangaroo golf courses.
