Fun for everyone at WLCC this Sunday

The City of Wanneroo is reminding residents the official opening of the new $18.5 million Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre is this Sunday.

The new building is one of the cornerstone projects of the Wanneroo Town Centre Revitalisation, and is the first in Western Australia to house this range of cultural services.

Community members will have the chance to see the completed building and get a taste of everything the building had to offer, as well as be entertained with a range of activities at the open day.

Regional Museum - Enjoy a rare ‘behind the scenes’ tour, test your skills on the spring surfboard and look up your family tree in the ‘Community History Room’.

Theatrette - Experience the excitement of a Broadway show with a performance by Limelight Theatre.

Library – Take part in Nintendo Wii tournaments in the Teen Lounge, children’s story-telling and computer demonstrations for the adults.

Exhibition Gallery - See the ‘Forever and Easy’ rock and roll photography exhibition by Michael Wylie.

There will also be displays and food tastings in the ‘Great Court’, roving performers, buskers, outdoor aerial acts and community group demonstrations.

The open day coincides with the Art ‘N’ About Art and Craft Markets, which will take place next to the Wanneroo Library Cultural Centre, on Rocca Way, with clothing, jewellery and local crafts on offer.
