Women in Enterprise

Wednesday, 28 October 2009

Support local women in business by attending the Women in Enterprise expo at the City of Wanneroo on Sunday, 15 November.

WAHM Network Australia (www.wahmnetwork.com.au) is hosting the exhibition, showcasing home-based businesses in the northern suburbs, run by women.

Mayor Jon Kelly said the expo aims to increase awareness of home based business as an alternative to returning to the workforce, as well as encouraging the community to spend locally.

“This is a great opportunity to see the many business ideas stemming from the northern suburbs – many great things are produced locally and people do not need to leave the City of Wanneroo to find quality services and products,” Mayor Kelly said.

“The City of Wanneroo also gives a great deal of support to home based businesses, with many training and networking opportunities offered throughout the year.”

There will be many different businesses exhibiting on the day, with products such as makeup, greeting cards, kitchen gadgets, natural dog treats, and services including weight loss and image consulting, wellness and chiropractive, daycare and community midwifery.

There will be plenty of entertainment for the whole family, with face-painting, free balloons, arcade machines, and a free goody bag for the first 200 entrants.
