The City of Wanneroo has developed a
Community Group Directory that stores a wide range of information regarding community groups, service providers and facilities across the City of Wanneroo.
The City of Wanneroo also plays an active part in supporting local community groups. There are around 500 active community groups in the City of Wanneroo and the City’s has developed a brochure specifically for community groups, which outlines helpful tips and information for new and established community groups. It is designed to be an easy reference for where to go and who to contact for assistance in a range of important areas.
In addition to this brochure the City is currently working on a community group resource kit, which is aimed at assisting community groups in locating funding, public liability, issues, marketing assistance, and other issues that community groups may face.
The Community Development Officer's at the City can also be contacted at any time for support with local initiative community groups may be involved in. The Community Development Officer's at the City of Wanneroo can assist in matters regarding incorporation of an association, finding a suitable venue for meetings/programs, recruiting volunteers and best practice, how to engage people with disabilities in your group/programs, and other general matters that groups may face.
The Grants Officer at the city can not only assist with the information above but information directly related to the city's Sponsorships, Donation/Waiver of Fees & Charges, Community Funding, Decommissioned Computers, Student Scholarships, and Student Citizenships. In addition to this the Grants Officer may be able to make groups aware of other funding opportunities that may be available to them.
