The Economic Development team at the City of Wanneroo provides a comprehensive range of services to support business investment and growth in Wanneroo. Our aim is to create a prosperous region that supports increased local employment opportunities. Our strong local and state-wide network allows us to be at the forefront of new ways of doing business based upon partnerships, facilitation and innovation.

Our main activities are focused upon the following areas:

Strategic Services

Working with land developers, government agencies and other organisations to improve basic infrastructure, increase the supply of commercial and industrial land, and reduce the regulatory burden on business.

Business Assistance

Providing services direct to the business community to support with development and growth. Our services include providing training, assistance with finding commercial property and land, demographic information, and planning and regulatory assistance. Through our partnerships with other government and non-government organisations we help to connect our businesses with support initiatives in areas such as financial grants, export market development, and commercialisation services. At a local level the City provides financial support to the Wanneroo Business Association and the North West Metro Small Business Centre who provide additional services to the local business community.

Special Projects

The team develops specific tools, solutions and events that support economic growth in the region. For example our on-line approval services for home based businesses and signage, and the Business i Lab that helps businesses to commercialise new ideas are two examples.

We also have specific resources focused upon tourism development.

In recognition of the City of Wanneroo’s commitment to a sustainable economic future the City has developed a comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, Tourism Strategy and Employment Policy.
