Parks and Reserves

The City is responsible for the maintenance of 184 parks, as well as Bush Forever sites, conservation reserves, foreshore reserves and 21 Council building surrounds. Although regular inspections of all parks and playground facilities are made, the City also relies on the public to notify us of any dangerous situations.

Golf Practice

Practising or playing golf in parks is dangerous and is therefore prohibited on all Council reserves, regardless of whether "No Golfing" signs are present or not.

Play Equipment

The City is working to meet the needs of children and carers by installing the latest and safest play equipment, and updating older playgrounds to meet current safety standards. Please help to take care of our children, parks and playgrounds by reporting any damaged play equipment to Operations Services.

Ground Marking

Clubs are responsible for marking of grounds and providing any other equipment.

Permitted: chalk, whiting or ground marking paint.

Prohibited: lime, creosote, sump oil, herbicide or any other chemical is prohibited for marking grounds.

Clubs wishing to ensure that only approved materials are used for line making should contact the Parks Coordinator of the City of Wanneroo 9405 5000.

If inappropriate line marking materials are used then a charge will be incurred to rectify any damage caused.

Grounds must be marked in accordance with the standards laid down by the Department of Sport & Recreation in its nationally adopted publication: "SPORT-Dimensions for Playing Areas". It is particularly important that the "Space about Playing Field" requirement is complied with.
