Have you heard about the Parenting Place at Clarkson Library?
It is a free local service for parents, grandparents and carers of young children, operating Tuesday and Thursday mornings between 9.30am and 11.30am during school terms. A free storytime session is held at 10.30am on these days as well!
Come along and chat to friendly and helpful people from a range of local parenting services and support organisations. You can borrow parenting books, videos and DVDs, and find out about a range of local services and courses (many of them are free!).
Search the entire parenting collection in the online library catalogue, request resources from other libraries, and let local service providers know what additional support and services you would like to see in the area for parents, carers, children and families.
If you haven't visited the Clarkson Library before, it is easy to find, just across the road from the northern entrance to Ocean Keys Shopping Centre on Ocean Keys Boulevard. There is ample parking behind the library, and also a bus stop located just outside (bus routes 474, 481, 482 and 490).
Inside the library, look for the parenting collection shelves between the junior fiction and young adult sections .
If you would like to know more, or are interested in volunteering at the Parenting Place, please call the City of Wanneroo on 9405 5600.
The Parenting Place is a Western Australia Early Years Strategy funded project, supported by the Department for Communities, Department for Child Protection, Ngala and Child and Adolescent Community Health Division, hosted by the City of Wanneroo at Clarkson Library.
