The Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre provides a state of the art exhibition facility for the north metropolitan area.

Located in the Wanneroo Town Centre, the Centre consists of the Wanneroo Regional Museum, Wanneroo Library and the Wanneroo Exhibition Centre.

A key community hub of the Town Centre, the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre will attract more than 1,000 patrons per day. The exhibition facilities are "A" class, making them suitable for national and internationally touring exhibitions.

The City of Wanneroo will provide to the community a broad range of exhibitions from a variety of disciplines. The Wanneroo Exhibition Centre will host major touring exhibitions, the City of Wanneroo Art Awards and displays of the City of Wanneroo Art Collection and Museum Collection.

The Exhibition Space encourages, stimulates and promotes local and regional cultural activities through a diverse exhibition program. There is opportunity for artists and groups to support these programs with their own exhibitions.

Forever and Easy Exhibition

In October this year, the City will host a rock photography exhibition by renowned Perth photographer Michael Wylie. Forever and Easy documents 18 years of live music in Western Australia, featuring international acts such as Rolling Stones, U2 and Pearl Jam, and local favourites INXS, Sleepy Jackson and Eskimo Joe.

The exhibition, presented by ART ON THE MOVE, will have over 1000 images on display including multimedia and features commentary and anecdotes from some of the major performers with written material provided by Bob Gordon, one of Western Australia’s most respected music journalists.

Entry to the exhibition is by gold coin donation.

Fertile Soil: 50 Years of the City of Fremantle Art Collection
12 December to January 17

Fertile Soil Exhibition

This exhibition marks a significant cultural milestone for the largest municipal art collection in Western Australia.

From the seeds of the original donation of 41 paintings by Sir Claude Hotchin in 1958, Fremantle's art collection has largely grown from the rich exhibition and artist in residence program of the Fremantle Arts Centre, which has been a 'hotbed' for visual arts in the port city since 1973.

The exhibition will highlight the work of twenty Western Australian practitioners who have lived and worked in Fremantle and made an important contribution to the visual arts culture of the city. The exhibition will include examples of contemporary Western Australia art spanning three decades; represent the strengths of the collection in painting, print, drawing, assemblage and ceramics, and strike a balance of work produced by established and emerging artists.
