Recognising those who are saving lives and reducing road trauma.
The City of Wanneroo, in conjunction with WALGA/RoadWise, is calling for nominations for the Human Spirit Awards.
The awards acknowledge the efforts of individuals for groups who work towards saving lives and reducing road trauma in Western Australia.
Wanneroo Mayor Jon Kelly said the Human Spirit Award campaign is the ideal opportunity to show these community members how much they are appreciated.
"It is important to show these examples of human spirit how much they are valued, and hopefully we can encourage others to follow their lead in striving to create safer roads," he said.
Nominees for the Human Spirit Awards could include school crossing attendants, parents involved in school road safety issues, local police officers, cycling groups and community members.
Award winners will be honoured by the City of Wanneroo at the annual Blessing of the Roads ceremony on Thursday 14 April, 2011 at the entrance to the Carramar Golf Course Estate, corner of Wanneroo Road and Joondalup Drive, Tapping at 10am.
Nomination forms are available from the City of Wanneroo Civic Centre, 23 Dundebar Road, Wanneroo, or by contacting the Transport and Traffic Administration Officer on 9405 5072.
Nominations close Friday 18 March, 2011.
