Evermore set to rock Wanneroo

Friday, 16 Sep 2011
Seven-time Aria Award nominated band Evermore will perform in Wanneroo on 19 November at the Beach to Bush Festival Concert.

The City of Wanneroo is thrilled to host Evermore at the Wanneroo Showgrounds for the free family concert, which is just one of many highlights in the ever-popular Beach to Bush festival – a month-long celebration full of events, concerts and activities.

Originally from New Zealand, now based in Melbourne, Evermore  has produced three platinum albums and a string of hits, including It’s Too Late (Ride On), Light Surrounding You, Hey Boys And Girls and Running.

As well as the seven Aria Award nominations, the brothers won two Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.

The Beach to Bush Festival Concert will be suitable for the whole family, with plenty of activities planned prior to the show, including kids entertainment and a youth area.

Wanneroo Mayor Jon Kelly said the Beach to Bush Festival was the City’s biggest and best community celebration.

“The Beach to Bush Festival is a great way for the community to get together and enjoy everything that makes Wanneroo a great place to live – from the beaches in Two Rocks all the way through to the bushland in Koondoola,” he said.

“While the Evermore concert is the biggest event, there will also be many smaller community events coordinated by the City, local community groups and businesses.”

The Festival kicks off on Sunday, 30 October with the launch event Dog’s Breakfast, proudly supported by ADVANCE.

The family fun day is the perfect opportunity to show man’s best friend just how much you love him or her, with live demonstrations, a pet seminar marquee, free vet checks, exhibitors and loads of free giveaways. Residents can also pay their City of Wanneroo dog registrations at the event.

Another highlight is sure to be Live in the Amphitheatre on November 11 and 12, with a humorous look at Shakespeare. The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) promises to be fun enough for a theatre novice yet smart and witty enough for the crustiest old Shakespeare fan.
