The City of Wanneroo will host Harmony Day celebrations at the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre to bring members of the community together.
This free event, to be held on Saturday 19 March from 11am to 3pm, will provide something for everyone with interactive African drumming and belly dancing demonstrations and cultural music and dancing displays.
In addition, finalists of 'Migrants Got Talent' will showcase their abilities, an FX special effects make up artist will show youth the tricks of the trade and children will be entertained by face painting and storytelling.
Mayor Jon Kelly said the day would allow residents to recognise and respect differences, whilst rejoicing in what it means to be a Western Australian
"It provides a chance for all of us to embrace our diversity and the many benefits this brings to society, he said.
The Metropolitan Migrant Resource Centre (MMRC) has partnered with the City to deliver the event, with ASeTTS (Association for Services to Torture and Trauma Survivors) also providing funding to demonstrate their 'Healthy Foods for Migrants' program.
The event, which will be held during Harmony Week, 15-21 March, will also be complemented by a display of cultural costumes in the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre museum.
