Treasure hunts, a sword-swinging action show and classic pirate movies are all part of the swash-buckling activities planned for the City of Wanneroo’s Nauti (Nautical) Day.
The Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre’s annual free family fun day will be held on Sunday, 18 September, and this year has a nautical theme to tie in with International Talk Like a Pirate Day on 19 September.
Activities include:
- Captain Blood: Classic Errol Flynn pirate movie
- Sword swinging, fun-filled action with the Hollywood Heroes
- Library book sale in Gallery
- Children’s craft activities
- Story telling in Library and Museum with Pirate Penelope
- Treasure Hunt in the Library
- Sea Shanty singing and dancing with Red Beret
There will also be face-painting for kids and information stands on the Two Rocks Volunteer Sea Rescue, Quins Mindarie Surf Lifesaving Club and City of Wanneroo Volunteer recruiting.

The City is also encouraging visitors to the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre on Friday 16 September to Dress Like a Pirate, and there will be a matinee and evening session of Friday at the Flicks (2pm and 7.30pm)
