From Tuesday 31st January until Thursday 9 February 2012 Wendy will exhibit her personal reflections and artwork from her time interacting with local residents and the Wanneroo Museum Collection.
From August to January, Wendy Lugg has been presenting a series of workshops and artist talks to inspire the Wanneroo Community to bring “new life to old cloth”. She has been using simple running stitch as an exciting and effective mark-making tool.
The tradition of making-do to create wonders from scant available resources has been an additional focus of Wendy’s residency. Traditional textiles from a wide variety of different cultures have provided inspiration and ideas for this exhibition, reflecting the cultural diversity of the Wanneroo region.
