Pre-Season Training
Pre-season training requests are often difficult to accommodate due to the ground maintenance schedules. The City wants your club to have the best possible surface for competitions, and as such maintenance schedules are planned in advance and take precedence over ground hire. During the two week break between seasons, the City's park maintenance also undertake an extensive program to install/remove goal posts and install/remove pitch mats. Your clubs pre-season training schedules will need to make provision for reduced ground allocations and seasonal ground changeovers.
Clubs are responsible for marking on grounds and providing any other equipment. Grounds must be marked in accordance with the standards laid down by the Department of Sport & Recreation in its nationally adopted publication: 'SPORT - Dimensions for Playing Areas' (external link). It is particularly important that the 'Space about Playing Field' requirement is complied with.
Permitted line marking material: chalk, whiting or ground marking paint
Prohibited line marking material: lime, creosote, sump oil, herbicide or any other chemical is prohibited for marking grounds
Clubs requiring clarification on approved materials used for line marking should contact the Parks Coordinator at the City of Wanneroo on 9405 5000.
If inappropriate line marking materials are used, then a charge will be incurred to rectify any damage to grounds.
Advertising registrations on road verges
Clubs are able to have signs made and placed in the local area advertising registration periods and other relevant information. Since the signs will be read by people on the road, guidelines have been developed to ensure visibility and safety for all road users.
