The City of Wanneroo’s Coastal Management Plan Part 1 was endorsed by Council for public consultation at the 31st of May Council Meeting 2011.
The CMP is being developed in two parts. Part 1 of the CMP introduces the Wanneroo coastline, describes a number of issues related to use of the coastline, documents existing and proposed facilities along the coast and proposes the potential ways in which known issues could be resolved. The second part of the Plan will be a more detailed plan to be completed in 2012, after the City has considered the results from the public consultation on Part 1. It will provide more information regarding reviewing of previous commitments, the potential impacts of climate change, and a detailed assessment of future community needs. As well as further assessment of existing management regimes and how they may need to be changed as the city develops and development of future projects to ensure sustainable use of the coastline
Public consultation for the CMP commenced on the 24 October 2011 and will continue for a period of three months concluding on the 27 January 2012.

The City will be holding free sausage sizzles at the City’s dog beaches as well as The Spot in Two Rocks where staff will be present to hand out copies of the questionnaire and answer any questions you might have.

There will be a CMP display at the Wanneroo show (25 & 26 November) that you can visit to talk to staff and complete a questionnaire.
An information sheet along with a FAQ sheet is available for you to download to help answer any questions you might have in regards to the CMP. However if your questions have not been answered or you require further information you can contact the City on 9405 5000.
