Domestic Recycling Service:
The City of Wanneroo provides a fortnightly domestic kerbside recycling collection service using the yellow lid bins.
Why recycle?
Recycling used products helps create a sustainable and healthy environment for us and future generations to enjoy.
Making products out of recycled material reduces the need to extract new materials from the environment, such as bauxite (for aluminium), iron ore (for steel), or silica sand (for glass).
Products made from recyclable materials require less energy, helping us to reduce pollution such as greenhouse gas emissions.
All recylcables should be placed loose into the recycling bin. Do not put recyclables inside plastic bags as these are deemed as 'rubbish' and are not recycled through the recycling system.
Please note: Plastic bags can be recycled through participating supermarkets.

Recycled materials are hand-sorted at the City's Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Wangara and the safety of our workers is very important. Putting out incorrect materials for recycling contaminates the correct materials and results in the service becoming more expensive as well as being less effective. It is also hazardous for our employees.
