What is Youth Services
The aim of the City of Wanneroo’s Youth Service is to provide a PLACE, FACE and VOICE for young people (12-25 years of age) who live in the City of Wanneroo. As the specific needs of young people vary, so do our programs, as we aim to make sure local young people are supported and empowered.
Main services that we provide are:
Confidential support, information, referral and advocacy to young people.
"Our focus is on supporting individuals and groups of young people, helping them with things they want help with"
Facilitate community development opportunities.
"..We offer support so that your ideas for your community may become reality"
Provide a sense of belonging and personal development opportunities.
Showcase local young people’s talents.
Maintain and encourage youth friendly environments.
"Having a say in what your 'space' looks like is important to everyone, particularly young people"
Encourage and nurture community involvement in youth issues
"It is not only young people that need to have a say in their community, sometimes they need others in their community to stand up for issues impacting them."
Create partnerships for youth services
"We love linking like minded people, as together they can have a stronger voice within the community."
Support young people and community groups to develop recreation options.
