Information
Proposed Amendment No. 5 to the South Alkimos Agreed Structure Plan No. 72
Public comment is invited on the
abovementioned amendment which proposes to:
1. Zone the portion of Lot 1012 currently notated as ‘Area Subject to Further Planning’ on the ASP 72 map, as Private Clubs and Recreation;.
2. Insert an odour buffer line and notation on the ASP 72 map identifying that the “Buffer area subject to potential odour emissions from the Alkimos Waste Water Treatment Plan”; and
3. Amending Clause 6.1 of the ASP 72 text to
include the following wording:
“Private Clubs/Recreation Zone — Area
within waste water treatment plant odour buffer only
Sensitive land uses as defined by
State Planning Policy 4.1 (State Industrial Buffer Policy) shall not be
permitted within the odour buffer area indicated on Plan 1, with the exception
of sports grounds and associated facilities, which may be approved by the Local
government on the advice of the Water Corporation of Western Australia.”
