The Amendment was refused by the WAPC for the following reasons:
1.“ The proposed amendment is contrary to Clause 5.6.1(4) of State Planning Policy 4.2 Activity Centres for Perth and Peel – Bulky goods retailing and mixed business as:

The proposed R60 density does not respond to the Objectives or Requirements of Element 1-Community Design in Liveable Neighbourhoods, 2009, as it is not appropriately integrated with the established Residential R25 area in a way that responds to local character and maximises development on public streets.”

Proposed Amendment No. 42 to the East Wanneroo Cell 6 Agreed Structure Plan No. 8 - Lot 1 & 2374 Wanneroo Road, Madeley
Public comment is invited on the abovementioned amendment which proposes to rezone a portion of Lot 1 & 2374 Wanneroo Road, Madeley from Residential to Commercial and rezone the rear portion from R25 to R80.
