The City of Wanneroo has a great range of activities to help you get active! Check below to find out more information on the programs available.

Parkrun

Parkrun is a free, weekly, timed five kilometre run or walk – it’s you against the clock.

People of all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to participate.  You can run, walk, push a pram or even take your dog, it’s a great way to meet others and get out and enjoy our beautiful parks.

Parkrun Quinns Rocks

REGISTRATION ESSENTIAL at www.parkrun.com.au/quinnsrocks

Where: 
Quinn’s Rocks Foreshore, Quinn’s Road. (next to Quinn’s Surf Life Saving Club)

Every Saturday morning. Run starts 8am sharp

Tai Chi for seniors

Tai Chi is a low impact way of getting more active and is good for the body and mind.

Wanneroo Recreation Centre, 275 Scenic Drive, Wanneroo

When: 
Mondays

  • 9:15am - 10:15am (advanced) 
  • 10:30am - 11:30am (intermediate)
  • 11:45am - 12:45pm (seated and standing beginners)

Thursdays

  • 9:15am - 10:15am (beginners and intermediate)

  • 1:00pm - 2:00pm (beginners)

Girrawheen Fitness Programs

PRIME MOVERS

Exercise for the over 50s. If you would like to improve your health and fitness Prime Movers is the place to go. Classes are structured to include stretching, low impact aerobics and muscle work, all carried out in a friendly environment to familiar music.

Where: Hainsworth Community Centre
When: Mondays // 9:45am
Cost: $3 per class, annual membership $17

Dance classes at the Hainsworth Centre

Dancing is a fun way to stay fit, healthy and make new friends. Join in line dancing classes at the Hainsworth Centre in Girrawheen.

Where: Hainsworth Centre - Hainsworth Avenue, Girrawheen
When: Fridays 10:00am to 11:00am

Hainsworth Centre Yoga Classes 

Take some time for yourself and enjoy the physical benefits and relaxing art of practicing Yoga. This class welcomes people of all fitness levels, shapes and sizes.

New participants can try out their first class for free!

Walking Groups

Walking groups are regularly running throughout the City of Wanneroo and are a great way to meet friends and get outdoors.  They are open to residents of all ages and fitness levels.

Walking groups currently operating include:

Jindalee Walking Group

Dog and pram friendly

Times:
8:30am Wednesdays (May to October) 
7:30am Wednesdays (November to April)

Meet at Brigantine Park, Jindalee

Butler Walking Group

Dog and pram friendly.

Walk length is generally around 1 hour with fast, medium or slow walker options – no one will walk alone.

On the last Monday of each month the group goes on a ‘walk away’, taking public transport to access walks in different areas, followed by morning tea at the community center.
