Race in Your Rates and win

Published Thursday, 28th July 2016

The City of Wanneroo is once again giving ratepayers the chance to win as part of the annual Race in Your Rates incentive.

Residents who pay their rates in full*, or pay the first instalment by 5 September will go in the draw for your chance to win an incredible prize.

Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said this year’s major prize was a $5,000 travel voucher to use for a dream holiday, be it a beach getaway or a ski adventure.

“Rates are necessary for the City to provide households and businesses with the best in services and facilities including libraries, recreational facilities, ranger services, health services, rubbish removal, road upgrades and environmental maintenance,” she said.

“We are also delivering a $75.54million capital works program featuring new major sporting and community facilities, as well as construction of new roads and upgrades to existing ones, all made possible by the prompt payment of rates.

“The investment in community driven capital works projects is an ongoing theme at the City, last financial year the allocation was in excess of $81million.

“This year our key focus was to keep rates as low as possible, and I am pleased to say the average residential rates increase of 3.5 per cent is the lowest rise in 10 years.”
