The gates opened at 4pm and crowds streamed in to the Showgrounds to get the best vantage spots, setting up picnics while children enjoyed free activities including bubble soccer, face painting, a photo booth and circus skills workshop.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said the event is extremely popular as it brings families together to enjoy free entertainment at a local venue.

“The City’s annual concert is always a huge success and this year was no exception,” Mayor Roberts said.

“It was great to see everyone enjoying a fabulous night of rock performed by five of Australia’s favourite bands,” she said.

“The atmosphere at the showgrounds was amazing, everyone was so happy enjoying quality music whilst watching the beautiful sun set on what was a lovely balmy night.

“It was lovely to see so many children up close to the stage with their eyes sparkling just in awe of being so close to the bands.

“Perth’s best food trucks cooked up a storm with plenty of delicious choices and lots of happy bellies.”

British India wowed audiences with their high-octane performance while support acts Little May, Holy Holy, Tired Lion and The Hunting Birds enthralled the crowd.

“On behalf of the City, I would like to thank all the bands for delivering such impressive performances that were thoroughly enjoyed by all,” Mayor Roberts said.
