City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts has thanked the community for their very generous donations to the annual Christmas appeal.
“We have had an overwhelming response from residents which is truly humbling,” Mayor Roberts said.
“Some 46 schools, businesses, community and seniors groups received red collection bins which were distributed around the City to accept donations of nonperishable food, toys and gifts.
“This year, many City of Wanneroo families will receive a hamper which includes non-perishable food items, including Christmas puddings and Christmas mince pies
along with beautifully wrapped age-relevant Christmas presents.”
Mayor Roberts also reminded residents about the Wanneroo Christmas Lunch at the Margaret Cockman Pavilion on Christmas Day.
“The City sponsors this free community event and residents who are looking to enjoy company on this special day are treated to a traditional hot lunch, gifts and entertainment.
“Thanks are extended to our local churches for their voluntary support of this special event on Christmas Day.”
Registration is essential (including children). Please call 9306 7191 or visit wanneroochristmaslunch.com
