Support for our “Connect Wanneroo – Get on Board” campaign generated 60,000 emails to State and Federal politicians that clearly demonstrated how important effective transport infrastructure is to our community. “I sincerely thank all residents for their enthusiasm and commitment that resulted in the success of the campaign”, Mayor Tracey Roberts said.

“I also thank the State and Federal Government for negotiating the $2 billion funding package that will allow these projects to come to fruition.

“At state level Premier Mark McGowan and Minister for Transport, Planning and Lands Rita Saffioti have led discussions with the Federal Minister for Finance Mathias Cormann to deliver ‘job creating and congestion busting projects’.

“In addition to the railway extension and dual carriageway upgrades, the package includes two grade-separated interchanges at the intersections of Wanneroo Road at Ocean Reef Road and Joondalup Drive”.

Mayor Roberts said the City will continue its diligent advocacy work to create more local jobs for local people, improving lifestyle and choices for residents throughout
the municipality.
