Nominate now for Human Spirit Awards

Published Tuesday, 3rd March 2015

The City of Wanneroo, together with WALGA's RoadWise Program, is calling for nominations for the Human Spirit Awards.

Roadwise
The awards acknowledge the efforts of those who work towards saving lives and reducing road trauma in Western Australia.

The Human Spirit Awards are aimed at individuals or groups that have:
  • promoted and supported road safety;
  • participated in road safety projects, campaigns and activities;
  • developed policies or strategies to reduce road related deaths or trauma;
  • raised awareness of local safety issues.

  • Mayor Tracey Roberts said nominees could include school crossing attendants, parents involved in school road safety issues, local police officers, cycling groups and other community members.

    "There are a number of community members who are passionate about road safety and keeping all road users safe and these awards are aimed at showing how much we appreciate their efforts," Mayor Roberts said.

    "It's also a good opportunity to encourage other people to strive to create safer roads for all."

    Award winners will be honoured by the City of Wanneroo at the annual Blessing of the Roads ceremony on Tuesday 31 March 2015.

    Nominations close Wednesday 18 March 2015. Download a nomination form or pick one up from the City of Wanneroo Civic Centre,
    23 Dundebar Road, Wanneroo.
