Residents urged to exercise caution during feral animal control program

Published Monday, 5th February 2018

Residents are being urged to obey signage and use formalised access tracks while feral animal control programs take place in various reserves throughout the City of Wanneroo.

Warning sign

The annual rabbit and fox control program will take place between 15 February and 30 April 2018.

Feral animals will be targeted in conserved foreshores and reserves in Quinns Rocks and Mindarie, and in selected reserves in Koondoola, Landsdale and Marangaroo.

The program aims to reduce the number of feral rabbits that cause damage to coastal dunes, bushland vegetation and rehabilitation sites and the prevalence of foxes preying on native fauna.

Targeted areas will be sign-posted and the City requests that all visitors keep to the formalised access tracks during this time.

Residents exercising their dogs should keep them on a leash at all times in these areas or use other dog exercise areas located throughout the City.
