About the position

Working within an experienced and self-motivated team, you will be required to be a team player and someone who thrives in our culture of continuous improvement and our ever-changing environment.  

The position will suit an experienced all round human resources generalist who can offer a broad range of skills including strong industrial relations knowledge. You will need high level skill in managing a variety of employee relations cases and bring an understanding of organisational change, development principles and practice whilst supporting our growth.

People & Culture Business Partner Position Description

About you

A self-driven experienced people and culture practitioner who has a proven track record of providing high level support to business leaders.

Main accountabilities include:

  • Advising and coaching leaders on human resources employee relations related matters including but not limited to contractual employee relations requirements, policies and procedures, people management and further creation of strong effective relationships for individuals’ development.
  • Mitigating business risk by ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies and procedures with particular reference to state legislation, equal opportunities & work health and safety; multiple industrial instruments and local government legislation.

Skills and Experience

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in human resource management or significant progression towards completion or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive human resources generalist or employee relations experience ideally within a local government environment.
  • Previous experience with the process interpretation and application of multiple industrial instruments and various relevant legislation.
  • Proven track record of providing coaching and advice on employee relations matters, including complex grievance resolution.
  • Strong attention to detail including technical writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and work with competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
