About the position

The City is seeking an experienced portfolio manager to lead the Construction Projects Section within the Infrastructure Capital Works Service Unit in the delivery of large and complex capital works projects.

The proposed portfolio will provide an interesting and challenging mix of civil and community open space projects. As such, the ideal candidate will have a multi-disciplinary skill set to work across a range of projects.

Coordinator Construction Position Description

About you

As a collaborative member of the Infrastructure Capital Works team you will be experienced in project management, innovative and thrive working in a very busy and change driven organisation. As such, applicants must be able to demonstrate through their and covering letter and CV that they meet the following capabilities:

  • University degree in relevant discipline such as civil/structural engineering
  • Significant experience in a senior project management role delivering complex capital works projects within a large and complex organisation.
  • National Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
  • Knowledge of business planning, resource planning and budget management.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Advanced people management skills to direct, manage, evaluate and motivate staff.
  • Advanced communication (written, verbal and public speaking) and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced research and analysis skills.
  • Advanced negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Advanced organisational skills.
  • Advanced skills in the efficient utilisation of information systems and technology.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of occupational health and safety measures in the workplace, including risk assessment and control implementation.
