Road Projects - Girrawheen – Amberton Avenue – Girrawheen Avenue to Marangaroo Drive – Renew Road Surface

To ensure the City is travel friendly with balanced and sustainable transport choices, improvements will be made to provide a smoother drive and improve safety by renewing the road surface.

This will include surface preparation and the removal of existing asphalt where required, asphalt resurfacing, removal and reinstatement of kerbing, pram ramp, drainage lid upgrades (as required) and line marking.

Construction is scheduled to commence week starting 11 August 2025, with anticipated completion by the end of October 2025.

To ensure public safety, full road closures (daytime) will be required for the asphalt resurfacing and lid replacement portions of these works.

Road closure details

• 18 August 2025 – required for lid reinstatements at the Amberton Avenue and Hainsworth Avenue roundabout.
• 7 October 2025 to 16 October 2025
• Closure periods will be between the hours of 7am and 5pm
• Variable Message Boards will be placed on the verges one week prior to commencement to communicate the road closure period to commuters.
• Road detours will be in place which will, at times, result in increased traffic in the surrounding areas. 
• Whilst continuous access to properties is expected throughout these works, some access delays may occur at certain stages.
