Road Projects - Hocking - Wanneroo Road - Vignerons Loop to Gungurru Avenue - New Pathway

This new pathway will be located along the eastern side of Wanneroo Road.  It will provide a continuous pathway to improve pedestrian and cyclist connectivity.  

Works will include:

• Installation of new concrete path, kerbing, brick paving and cemented limestone spalling as required. Pruning of vegetation and removal of shrubs/trees will occur where necessary to accommodate the works. 
• Pavement widening at the intersection of Gungurru Avenue and Wanneroo Road.
• Asphalt resurfacing and linemarking reinstatement at the intersection of Gungurru Avenue and Wanneroo Road and the left turn pocket on Wanneroo Road into Gungurru Avenue. 

Works are scheduled to commence during week commencing 2 March 2026, with completion anticipated by the end of May 2026. 

Road closure details 3 March 2026 to 1 April 2026

• This will require:
  • a left turn pocket closure on Wanneroo Road into Gungurru Avenue between 7am and 3pm; and
  • a slow lane road closure from Gungurru Avenue, turning left onto Wanneroo Road, between the hours of 9am and 3pm.
• Variable Message Boards will be in place on verges prior to commencement to communicate the road closure period to the public.
• Road detours will be in place which will, at times, result in increased traffic in the surrounding areas.
• Continuous access to properties will be maintained throughout these works. 
• During construction, temporary traffic management and relevant signage will be in place during construction to safely manage traffic and pedestrians around the worksite. 
• Whilst it is inevitable that works of this nature will cause some inconvenience, every endeavour will be made to ensure this is kept to a minimum.
