Community Facility Projects - Madeley - Kingsway netball changeroom upgrades
The Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex Netball Clubrooms was a purpose built club house and change room constructed in 1974.
Various alterations and additions have since been made to the building for the Wanneroo Districts Netball Association (WDNA), however, the continued expansion of the WDNA competition has seen the building struggle to support existing needs.
The Kingsway Netball Changerooms Upgrade comprises refurbishment of the existing WDNA offices, hall, kitchen, toilet amenities and changing rooms. New building extensions incorporating additional space for WDNA offices aswell as new changing rooms, toilets and first aid room will also be constructed.
The City is investing $2.6 million towards the project which has a total budget of $3.1 million. Other financial contributions include a $500,000 grant from the Department of Local Government, Sports and Cultural Industries.
Wangara based Geared Construction commenced construction in March 2019.
Stage 1 works included relocation of WDNA staff into a temporary office located on site and within the existing hall, to allow construction works to commence surrounding them. These works were completed 26th July 2019 and included construction of:
Following completion of Stage 1; the WDNA staff were then relocated to occupy on site their new administration offices whilst the Stage 2 construction works were completed. This comprised of
