Community Facility Projects - Madeley - Kingsway Aquatic Play Space

Suburb Madeley
Ward South Ward
Key Facts

The objective is to undertake concept development, detailed design and the construction of an 180sqm aquatic play space at the Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex, Madeley.

The proposed site for the aquatic play space at Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex (Kingsway) is adjacent to the existing Dinosaur Park.

The concept design is based on a traditional zero-depth splash pad similar to the one at Wanneroo Aquamotion, and aims to provide a range of interactive experiences for all ages. The water play concept is also intended to be augmented by stencilling of the surface to meet the prehistoric theme of the area and will include a number of highlight features such as prehistoric creature elevated sprays, botanical (tree) elevated sprays and various ground sprays and jets.

Completed Stages

Construction of the Aquatic Play Space was completed in November 2019, with the facility being handed over to City's Parks Team.

A technical Pool Operator has been appointed to monitor water quality level and overall operation.

The Facility is open for public daily from 8am to 7pm between October and April each year.

All the relevant approvals have been obtained.
