Key Council Projects

CAPITAL WORKS 2021/22 AT A GLANCE

Parks and Playgrounds - $30.5 million

Key projects include continued construction at the site of Halesworth Park in Butler,  putting in a shared use path along  Alexander Drive in Landsdale and work  associated with shaping a new aquatic and recreation centre in Alkimos.

Over $6.9 million will be spent on vibrant, verdant open spaces where residents can recreate, with interactive and engaging upgrades to be fitted at the above parks. These are in addition to a comprehensive renewal of existing park assets at more than a dozen neighbourhood playgrounds.

Foreshore Management and Conservation - $9.5 million

Honeypossum Reserve, Boomerang Reserve, Banksia Grove and Badgerup Reserve, Wanneroo. A further $4.2 million will be spent on caring for our coastline and conservation, with rehabilitation at the above reserves, designed to offset the impact of new infrastructure.

Waste and Recycling - $43.1 million

In addition, the City will invest $186 million in operations expenditure next year to provide a range of important services to our community. This includes $37.2 million on waste services and our ongoing efforts to send less household waste to landfill through our new three bin waste system.
