Drop-off facilities
Some waste is just too large to fit in your household bins. Other waste doesn’t belong in any of your household bins such as:
- Electronic waste (e-waste) – televisions, tablets, monitors, hard drives, etc
- Mobile phones
- Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) – batteries, aerosols, flammable liquids, paints, pesticides, etc
- Other problematic waste – tyres, asbestos, sharps/needles and medicine, etc
In these circumstances, there are a number of alternative disposal options available.
Wangara Greens Recycling Facility
The weekend Greens Recycling Facility in Wangara accepts clean green waste from the public and creates mulch for resale to the public. It is also a recycling collection point for a number of items such as batteries, bulk cardboard, polystyrene and scrap metal.
The City is currently trialling a new program to recycle solar bubble style pool covers, regardless of manufacturer. Before you drop your cover off for recycling, please ensure it is free of organic matter such as leaves, and remove any cords or attachments. This program is a collaboration with Daisy Pool Covers will run until June 2023.
