Thousands flocked to City’s free family-friendly events

The program featured 11 major community events including concerts, festivals, a Christmas Parade and the iconic multicultural celebration, Wanneroo Festival.

Held across suburbs from Girrawheen to Yanchep, the community took part in a diverse free calendar of events designed for all ages and interests.

The Wanneroo Festival welcomed more than 15,000 attendees to enjoy multicultural food, performances and cultural experiences, ending the night with a spectacular drone show.

Symphony Under the Stars was also a highlight of the season and saw talented local performers thrust centre stage, given an opportunity to perform with the 70-piece Joondalup Symphony Orchestra.

Mayor Linda Aitken said she was proud the City hosted exciting events in every corner of the community and hoped to see even more people get behind these free events next season.

“Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, performed and helped make this year's events season such a remarkable success,” she said.

“The success of the season reflects the City's commitment to delivering high-quality, accessible events that strengthen community connections, support local artists and businesses and provide memorable experiences for everyone to enjoy.”

Keep an eye out for the City’s 2026/27 Signature Events Series, kicking off in October with a Halloween Spooktacular in Carramar and followed by Sunset Sounds concerts in Alexander Heights and Yanchep.
