Tattoo artist from Sinagra wins People’s Choice Award for the 2026 Community Art Awards

His artwork, Magic Mushroom Cloud, received an outstanding reception with 190 votes out of the 985 total votes placed, winning the $500 prize with the runner-up receiving 63 votes.

Rojas’ artwork was created by airbrush and brush on acrylic paper and was one of over 130 finalists in this year’s Community Art Awards.

Rojas was the seventh and final award winner, sharing in a total prize pool of $20,000.

“My practice focuses on realism, with a strong emphasis on contrast, depth, and precision,” Rojas wrote in his entry.

“Combining controlled airbrush techniques with hand-rendered elements, I create compositions that balance technical accuracy with expressive mark-making.

“Influenced by both classical realism and street culture, my work integrates portraiture, typography, and structured composition. I aim to produce visually impactful work that maintains clarity, balance, and longevity across different surfaces.”
