Neerabup development moves ahead to unlock land for local jobs

The City of Wanneroo is moving ahead with the next stage of the Neerabup Industrial Area, helping create more opportunities for residents to work closer to home as the City continues to grow.
At its Ordinary Council Meeting on 25 August 2026, Council accepted Dowsing Group Pty Ltd’s as the successful tender to deliver civil and servicing works at Lot 9100 Mather Drive, transforming the 16.3-hectare site into an industrial estate for future businesses.
The works will include new roads, drainage, sewerage, water, power, gas and telecommunications infrastructure, 41 ‘green-titled’ industrial lots will be created by the subdivision, with lots ranging from 1,500 to 4,600m2 and ready for settlement from late 2027 onwards.
Mayor Linda Aitken said enabling employment areas such as Neerabup was important as the City’s population continued to grow.
“Creating more local jobs is one of the most important things we can do for our growing community,” she said.
“We want our residents to have more opportunities to build their careers closer to home, spending less time travelling to work and more time in their local community.
“By getting this land ready for businesses to establish and grow, we’re investing in the City’s long-term economic future and creating opportunities that will benefit our community for years to come.”
The Neerabup Industrial Area, which includes the new subdivision, covers about 1,000 hectares, majority owned by the City and the State Government. The Industrial Area is expected to support up to 30,000 jobs when fully developed, making it the City’s largest strategic employment centre.
Once fully developed, Lot 9100 is expected to accommodate around 70 businesses and support approximately 500 jobs.
The project supports the City’s Council Plan 2025-2035 commitment to grow local jobs through thriving businesses and diverse industries, including a target of more than 75,000 local jobs by 2031.
Construction is expected to commence in October 2026, with works expected to be completed by the end of 2027.
