The Yanchep-based business secured the construction contract for the project, which will deliver a new 33-bay undercover, floodlit driving range and refurbished clubhouse.

Additional works will include a commercial kitchen, lounge area, outdoor deck overlooking the 18th green, upgraded changerooms and an electric cart storage facility.

This major transformation of the public course is aimed at enhancing the experience for existing patrons while attracting a new generation of golfers through the introduction of modern technology, including a simulator and tuition room and an automated ball distribution and collection system.

Mayor Linda Aitken said it was pleasing to see a City of Wanneroo-based company selected to deliver such a significant local project.

“This appointment highlights the strength and capability of our local business sector while ensuring this exciting project is delivered by a company that understands our community,” she said.

Early works are already underway, with a new cart shed under construction and temporary pro shop and hospitality facilities in place.

Belgravia Leisure manages the Carramar and Marangaroo Golf Courses on behalf of the City.

Marangaroo will undergo its own redevelopment. The tender for those works is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Belgravia Leisure Business Operations Manager Douglas Bailey said: “The appointment of such a highly reputable and local builder in Hickey Constructions mirrors our commitment to community engagement throughout the project. We look forward to working closely with Hickey Constructions over the coming months to provide a facility worthy of the local golfing community and beyond.”
