Step back in time and discover how Aussie summer holidays have changed in this fun, nostalgic look at play, travel, and togetherness — from mixtapes to modern memories.

Before tablets, streaming, and social media, summer holidays were all about simple pleasures; car-trip singalongs, backyard games, beach adventures, and collecting treasures along the way.

Summer Then & Now invites families to rediscover the joy of low-tech fun through playful, hands-on activities inspired by the golden age of Aussie summers. Explore how leisure, travel, and recreation have changed over time in Wanneroo and beyond, and spark conversations between generations about favourite pastimes and family traditions.

Children can dive into games, retro toys, and creative play inspired by the way their parents and grandparents spent their school holidays - from mixtapes to board games, cubbies to caravans.

Whether you’re reminiscing or discovering something new, this relaxed, family-friendly experience brings the spirit of summer to life and celebrates what it means to make memories together.
