The play space at Rotary Park will be upgraded to ensure it is accessible for all to enjoy.
Upgrades will include:
- Replacement of the existing fort
- Refurbishment of sand play area providing new play equipment and shade sales
- New nature place space
- New play equipment for all ages
- Additional fencing to enclose the park and improve safety
- Rubberised surfaces to improve accessibility
Changes will be completed in two stages.
Stage one
Fort replacement – completed July 2024.
Stage two
Playground upgrades, infrastructure improvements and renewal of park furniture.
Works will commence in February 2026, with completion anticipated by the end of June 2026.
Comprehensive upgrades to the park are detailed further below. To ensure public safety during these works, the playground area will need to be closed.
During construction, temporary fencing will be in place around the area highlighted below whilst park upgrades are in progress.

Variable Message Boards will be in place on the verge to communicate this temporary closure to the public.
Whilst it is inevitable that works of this nature will cause some inconvenience, every endeavour will be made to ensure this is kept to a minimum.
Infrastructure improvements across the park
- Installation of new pole-style lighting to replace existing bollard lights
- Replacement of the park’s irrigation system
- Surface water drainage improvements
- Landscaping and hardscaping works
- Bin enclosures and smart-level indicators on rubbish bins
- Artwork showcasing local fauna
- ‘Rotary Park’ entry sign
- Inclusive communication board
Playground upgrades
New play equipment will be installed across themed zones:
- Toddler play area
- Climbing net area
- Sand play area
- Imagination play zone
- Nature play area
- Swings area
- Installation of new shade sails
Note: The existing carousel will remain.
Other works will include the renewal of various park furniture with:
- Accessible park seats
- Accessible park shelters and picnic settings
- Park fence
- Electric BBQs
- Accessible drink fountain with tippable dog bowls
