IPWEA Awards

The IPWEA WA Awards for Excellence endorse, encourage and recognise excellence in the innovation, development, construction, and management of public works projects and the people involved.

The Cities of Wanneroo and Joondalup took out the Best Public Works Project $2m - $5m (metro) category for the joint dual use path project, which was delivered in partnership with the Western Australian Planning Commission, Tamala Park Regional Council and Peet Communities.

The 3.5km coastal path stretches from Burns Beach to Mindarie, providing Perth pedestrians and cyclists with a continuous route all the way from Jindalee to Fremantle.

The City also received a commendation in the Excellence in Innovation Award (metro) category for the WasteSorted - Talking My Language toolkit, a multilingual learning resource developed to overcome barriers experienced by culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) demographics when accessing waste education messaging.
