Nominations open for Community Citizen of the Year Award

The City is calling on residents to recognise the everyday heroes who make a difference in their community, with nominations now open for the 2027 Auspire Community Citizen of the Year Awards.
These prestigious awards provide an opportunity to celebrate individuals, groups and events for their contributions to the local community through service, leadership, volunteerism and community spirit.
People like Janine Wood – the driving force behind No Limits Perth, a not‑for‑profit organisation supporting vulnerable people in crisis across Perth’s northern suburbs.
The award categories are:
• Community Citizen of the Year
• Young Community Citizen of the Year (16 to 30 years)
• Senior Community Citizen of the Year (65 years and over)
• Active Citizenship Award for a Group or Event.
Recipients are selected based on their achievements during the year immediately preceding the award, as well as their past accomplishments and ongoing contribution to the community.
Eligible recipients will also be considered for the prestigious Australian of the Year Awards program.
Anyone wishing to submit a nomination should review the eligibility and selection criteria beforehand. Nominations close on 31 October 2026.
