If you are in need of information or support, there are many agencies that are out there for young people and parents.

Kids Helpline

Australia’s only free confidential and anonymous 24-hour telephone and online counselling service specifically for young people aged between 5 and 18.

Crisis Care

A 24-hour, 7 days a week telephone service for people in crisis and needing urgent help. They can provide information on other possible agencies that may assist you with your issue.

Crisis Care can be accessed through the translating and interpreting service on 13 14 50.

Telephone Crisis Care when:

  • You need someone to help sort out a serious problem.
  • You are concerned about the wellbeing of a child.
  • You are escaping domestic violence and need help.
  • Arguments are causing unhappiness and problems in your family.
  • You are alone or afraid and urgently need to talk to someone.
  • You are homeless.
  • You need counselling, information or other support.

Parenting Line

The Ngala Parenting Line offers phone advice and support to parents and carers of children up to 18 years old. Their team of qualified and friendly staff are on hand to offer reassurance and encouragement along the parenting journey. Hours of operation are 8am to 8pm, seven days a week. Ngala also offers a call-back service for out of hour’s queries..

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds. headspace can help young people with mental health, physical health (including sexual health) alcohol and other drug services, and work and study support.

The Office of the eSafety Commissioner offers a range of programs, services and resources including:
