The Amendment was
refused by the WAPC for the following reasons:
proposed amendment is contrary to Clause 5.6.1(4) of State Planning Policy 4.2
Activity Centres for Perth and Peel – Bulky goods retailing and mixed business
would result in ad hoc business/commercial development which would potentially
contribute to a ribbon pattern of bulky goods retail along a regional road
(Wanneroo Road); and
has not demonstrated there is a lack of land availability for commercial or
business uses within Kingsway Activity Centre or the Wangara Industrial Area,
and potentially prejudices the commercial operations and viability of the
Kingsway Activity Centre, contrary to the principles of orderly and proper

Proposed Amendment No. 42 to the East Wanneroo Cell 6 Agreed Structure Plan No. 8 - Lot 1 & 2374 Wanneroo Road, Madeley
Public comment is invited on the abovementioned amendment which proposes to rezone a portion of Lot 1 & 2374 Wanneroo Road, Madeley from Residential to Commercial and rezone the rear portion from R25 to R80.
