Draft Local Environmental Strategy

Community engagement has now closed. Comments were submitted from 19/09/2018 to 13/11/2018.

The City's new Local Environmental Strategy (LES) was approved by Council on 5 March.

Information

At the Council Meeting of 18 September 2018, the City’s draft Local Environmental Strategy was adopted to allow for community consultation and public advertising.

The Strategy will enable the City to identify key concerns and improve the quality of natural and built environment in the City of Wanneroo.

The Strategy identifies six key themes to ensure all environmental elements are considered:

  • Flora and Fauna – biodiversity and native vegetation
  • Land and waste – contamination and management
  • Community – sense of place and liveability
  • Climate Change impacts
  • Air and Energy – including air quality and energy reduction
  • Water – including availability and quality.

Invitation to provide feedback
You are encouraged to provide feedback on what environmental issues are important to you. Feedback received will shape the final Local Environmental Strategy and future action plans.

The Strategy is available below for viewing online or at the City of Wanneroo Civic Centre (23 Dundebar Road, Wanneroo).

Comments on the draft Strategy can be made in writing addressed to the Chief Executive Officer and lodged on or before 13 November 2018 (49 days from date of letter) as follows:
