The City of Wanneroo is proposing to construct a beach access and car park off Two Rocks Road in southern Two Rocks. The proposal is in response to community interest for an additional access in southern Two Rocks. It is anticipated that demand for this access will continue, particularly as development increases in the area over time.

The proposed access and car park are intended to provide minimal environmental disturbances and to compliment the area’s natural amenity. Therefore, they will be of a smaller scale than those provided at some of the City’s other, busier beaches. The details of the access and car park are currently being progressed.  Also, a concept plan of the proposed access and car park is included below.

As part of the process to construct the access, the City is preparing a foreshore management plan (FMP). The FMP will provide guidance and outline measures to protect, maintain and manage the foreshore reserve surrounding the proposed development.

The City considers it important to manage and protect its coastal foreshores effectively. FMPs assist in this process by considering the impacts of proposed developments or activities on the foreshore’s natural landscapes. They also outline areas to retain vegetation, set out revegetation works and propose detailed site management actions to be undertaken before, during and after construction.

The preparation of an FMP over southern Two Rocks provides a unique opportunity for residents in the community to ensure the area is managed and protected for their benefit. The City asks you to consider issues that the Southern Two Rocks Foreshore Management Plan could outline and address. For instance, which features of this foreshore reserve are important to you? How do you think the foreshore and surrounding area should be used and protected?
