Information

Abbeville Park, Mindarie is a neighbourhood level active reserve that is home to Mindarie FC, Mindarie Little Athletics Club and Quinns Rocks Junior Cricket Club. The Park received upgrades in 2017 which saw LED Sports Floodlighting installed, and a kiosk and storage building constructed.

To allow for the full use of these upgrades, this project is to extend the active oval to the east to allow for a full size soccer field, and 200m athletics training track.

For this to occur, works shall include:

  • Excavation and re-turf to level out the eastern boundary of the active area;
  • Relocation of park bench, athletics discus cage and cricket wicket;
  • Relocation of Norfolk Pine trees planted in 2019 (Note that no mature tree is impacted by the works); and
  • Removal of tee-ball backnet.

The City has consulted with each of the user group clubs at Abbeville Park and Mindarie Primary School in the development of the concept design.

Works are scheduled for commencement in early 2021.
