The Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) is currently seeking feedback on a three (3) development applications relating to the Yanchep rail extension. This extension will deliver the last proposed section of the Joondalup Line from Butler, 14.5km north to Yanchep, including new stations at Alkimos, Eglinton and Yanchep.
The extension will help develop activity centres by stimulating new employment opportunities in the Alkimos secondary centre, Eglinton district centre and Yanchep Strategic Metropolitan Centre. The project also supports higher density land use for residential and commercial purposes.
