Information

The Cities of Wanneroo and Joondalup invite public comment on the draft revised Yellagonga Integrated Catchment Management Plan 2021-2026 (YICM Plan).

The Plan is a collaborative approach between the two Cities that aims to monitor and improve the health of the Yellagonga wetlands and has been developed to ensure an integrated approach to the ongoing management of the Yellagonga Catchment. It provides a strategic direction for the implementation of key projects and aims to improve the ecological functions and overall health of Yellagonga Regional Park.

The Draft Yellagonga Integrated Catchment Management Plan 2021-2026 builds on the previous Yellagonga Integrated Catchment Management Plan 2015-2019 and addresses a range of threats to the long-term viability of Yellagonga Regional Park including climate change, water quality, invasive flora and fauna species, disease spread, urban encroachment, stormwater drainage, habitat degradation and threats to local biodiversity.

The Plan will be implemented through a comprehensive and broad list of projects that aim to improve the environmental health of the Yellagonga wetlands and surrounding catchment.
